Susan J Straceski

Susan Jane (Bowry) Straceski, 80, of Farmington, formerly of New Britain, passed away at St Mary Home on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Born February 8th, 1931, the daughter of the late Frank and Ann (Baylock) Bowry, Susan is survived by her devoted husband and high school sweetheart of 59 years Walter Joseph Straceski, her son and daughter-in-law Donald and Laurie Straceski, and her daughter and son-in-law Mariann and Bruce Fiori. Susan is also the proud grandmother of Kimberlee and Todd Straceski and Michael and Kristin Fiori. One of the greatest pleasures in her life were her Grandchildren.

Susan was a graduate of New Britain High School where she was one of the original Twirlerettes of the class of 1948. An employee of New Britain General Hospital for over 30 years, Susan was a certified Administrative Records Technician in the medical records admission review department. In her free time Susan enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her family, and loved to sing and dance.

Per the request of Susan, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a mass of Christian Burial at St Patrick’s Church on Main Street in Farmington on Wednesday, August 24th at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Mary Home, West One Alzheimer’s Wing, on Albany Avenue, West Hartford. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude and thanks to the staff of St Mary West One Alzheimer’s unit for the excellent and compassionate care Susan received while she was at St Marys. We are forever grateful.
