

Tadeusz Rodziewicz, 85, of Bristol, formerly of New Britain, died Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut with his family by his side. Born in Poland, he was the son of the late Jan and Adela (Baginska). He emigrated with his family to the United Sates first settling in Riverhead, NY and then moving to New Britain in 1966. Prior to his retirement, Tadeusz was a machinist at the Textron Corp. (formerly Atlantic Aerospace Corp.) in Newington where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church. In his early years of retirement, he spent time caring for his grandchildren, helping his children with construction projects, tending to his vegetable garden, and foraging for mushrooms. He knew how to fix things and cook. He enjoyed Sunday drives to the beach with his wife and dinners at Lenny & Joes Fish Tails in Madison. Tadeusz was the widower of Regina (Kurylonek) Rodziewicz. He was a devoted and generous father and will be deeply missed by his family: a daughter Theresa and her husband Richard Szmurlo, and a son Richard and his wife Margaret Rodziewicz. He leaves four beloved grandchildren: Danielle and Matthew Light, Theodore and Eleanor Szmurlo, Matthew Rodziewicz, and Samantha Rodziewicz; and two great-grandchildren Gabriel and Ania Light. Tadeusz is survived by his many siblings: Leokadia Czech, Janina Kurosz, Waleria Tuthill, Helena Czuprynski, Kazimierz (Anna) Rodziewicz, Jan (Teofila) Rodziewicz. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and dear friend Wladzia. Relatives and friends may call on Tadeusz's family Monday, December 14, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 pm at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, Broad St, New Britain.
