Teresa S. Ayr

Teresa S. Ayr, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. Born on May 6, 1940, in New Britain, Connecticut, Teresa was the cherished daughter of Joaquin and Teresa Sastre, and the devoted sister of Joaquin “Jack” Sastre. She grew up in Simsbury, where she formed lifelong friendships and built a foundation of warmth, kindness, and resilience that she carried throughout her life.

A long-time resident of Springfield, Massachusetts, Teresa built a beautiful home and life there with the loving help of her brother Jack, whose carpenter’s touch helped make it a true home for her. She spent most of her career in retail sales, where her friendly spirit and caring nature made her a joy to be around. She had a gift for making everyone she met feel special and valued—whether it was a customer, a co-worker, or a lifelong friend.

In her later years, Teresa moved to Bluffton, South Carolina, to be closer to her family. She made her home at May River Landing, where she found a wonderful community and many dear friends who became like family. Her bright smile and genuine warmth made her a beloved presence there as well.

Family was always at the heart of Teresa’s world. She is survived by her loving daughters, Patricia Teodore and Denise Spaman; her son-in-law, Gary Teodore; her granddaughter, Jessica Teodore; and her grandson, Lee Teodore. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Frank Tetro, whom she now joins in eternal peace. Her love, laughter, and gentle guidance will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Those who knew Teresa will remember her warm smile, her quick wit, and the way she could light up a room just by being in it. She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and strength that will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her parents, her brother Jack, and her son Frank, surrounded by love and peace. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
