Theodore G. Engwall

Theodore G. Engwall, 82, of New Britain, died Friday, August 9, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted was born Oct. 22, 1930 in Newark, New Jersey to Oscar and Violet (Kallberg) Engwall. He married his high school sweet heart, the late Lenore (Carlin) Engwall.

Mr. Engwall retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and later the UConn Health Center, in 1995. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Ted was a lifelong resident of New Britain. He enjoyed cooking, bingo and loved to read.

He is survived by a son; Robert Engwall of Columbia, SC, a daughter, Deborah Kowalewski of New Britain, a brother, Roy and his wife Pat Engwall of New Britain, four grandchildren; David and Steven Kowalewski, Christine and her husband James Freire, Ansley Engwall, and a great grand daughter, Maria Freire, and several nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will begin Monday, August 12, 2013 at 9:00am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain until the time of the Prayer Service at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society,1075 Chase Pkwy, Waterbury, CT 06708
