Victor Fiumara

June 22, 1933October 10, 2021

Victor John Fiumara, 88, of New Britain joined the Lord in Heaven on October 10, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. Husband to his beloved Yolanda (Didato) Fiumara of 68 wonderful years, Victor was known far and wide for his infectious smile, pride in his Italian heritage, and above all the love of his family. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in New Britain. He was also a proud member of the IPIC (Italian Political Independent Club) in Berlin CT where he enjoyed being part of the bocce league. Victor loved gardening and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Victor lived his life fully and without regret, his kind soul, sense of humor and smile was contagious. No matter where he went he always made a friend for life. He truly adored the simple pleasures in life: having coffee and or breakfast every morning with family or friends. Victor will sadly be missed by all, but he will remain in our hearts forever. “When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind” Victor is predeceased by his parents: Guiseppe and Giovanna (Bongiorno) Fiumara; his brother Joseph Fiumara and sister Sebastiana Sipala. In addition to his loving wife, Yolanda, Victor leaves behind his children who he cherished: Joseph Fiumara and his wife Sara of Plymouth, MA; Jeffrey Fiumara of New Britain, and Robin Fiumara and her husband Michael of Newington. He was a loving grandfather to Jeffrey Fiumara Jr. of Plainville; Matthew Hills and significant other Alyssandra Caccomo of Newington; Justene Golino and her husband Anthony of Bridgewater, New Jersey; Jillian Pothier and her husband Justin of Plymouth, MA and Libby Fiumara and Garrett Kingston of Boston, MA; his precious great-grandchildren: Donaven, Giovanni, CeCe and Leo. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and close friends who he loved and treasured with all of his heart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105. Losing someone you love is like losing a part of yourself. You miss them and you miss who you were with them. Nothing will ever replace that.
May you take comfort in loving memory and the friends and family that surround you. May the pain you feel now be nothing compared to joy found within the memories of great neighbor Victor . Our deepest condolences for your loss.

My dad is a courageous man that gave a valiant effort to the end. Always with a smile on his face no matter what he was going through. And always still worried about everyone else. He was always a sweet kind gentle understanding giving compassionate man. When he passed he went straight into Jesus hands. No stops no turns straight into his hands. I love you dad and will miss you soooo much. I will celebrate your life every day..

Over the years, Sabrina & I were often at gatherings held at Joe and Sara's including holidays in which his parents where there. The fondest memory I have of Joe's dad was he was a quiet gentleman and always had that big smile. Our prayers are with you during these difficult times. Cherish the memories.

Bob and I are so sorry for your family's loss. We always loved talking to him at our family gatherings. He did have an infectious smile. We felt very comfortable engaging in a conversation with him. Bob remembers him going to the "garage" and talking with the guys after work. He always had a good story. May he rest in peace.
