On Tuesday, December 11, 2018 the family of Vincenzo Salvatore Campagna were heart broken when they had to return to God their husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather of New Britain and Old Lyme, Connecticut. Vincenzo left earth to be in heaven with all who left this world before him. Vincenzo was the son of the late Nicola and Maria Caterina (Romeo-Arena) Campagna, and the devoted husband of 62 years to Maria Nicola (Farinacci) Campagna. Born on November 13, 1925 in Santa Caterina, Calabria, Italy, he came to the United States in 1948. Vincenzo worked and retired from the Emhart Corporation after 42 years. He was one of the founding members of the Calabria Mia Society, past member of the Sacred Heart Society of St. Ann Church, and a proud parishioner of St. Ann Church for 70 years. Vincenzo cherished his family more than life itself. He taught them what it meant to be hardworking, loving and the importance of family values, and treated everyone he met with respect.
Vincenzo leaves three daughters, Maria Clement of Kensington, Antonietta Fraello and her husband Sebastian Fraello of Berlin, Dolores Carlone and her husband Mark Carlone of Kensington, and a son, Nicola Campagna and his fiancé Cindy Saucier of Amston. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Adam Pietrowicz, Danielle Fraello, David Fraello, Mark Carlone Jr., Valerie Fraello, Michael Pietrowicz, Christopher Carlone and Nicole Carlone; two great-grandchildren, Vincenzo and Bianca Pietrowicz; a brother Mario Campagna of Old Lyme and a sister Rose Fazio of Plainville. He was predeceased by his brother Giuseppe Campagna and sister Lisa Criniti.
To the staff of The Reservoir and The Franciscan Hospice Care, we thank you for your guidance and compassion through these difficult times.
