

Born in Mlawa, Poland, she was daughter to the late Ryszard and Jadwiga (Rozonska) Pietruszak. She was a dedicated nurse for many years for a local pediatrician and also worked for New Britain General Labor and Delivery. She also worked at Lord and Taylor in the West Farms Mall for the past 18 years. For all that knew Wiesia, know she was a kind, loving and generous woman. She always made sure the people she loved felt they were the most important people in the world. Wiesia had many talents,cooking and knitting were just two of her favorites. She will always be remembered for her delicious meals and heavenly desserts. She also made sure that anyone entering her house left with a full stomach. She loved to knit blankets and crochet scarves for her family members. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She lived for making crafts with them, playing games and spending quality time. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach and family cookouts.
In addition to her beloved husband, George of 48 years, she is survived and will also be dearly missed by her two sons: Peter Kownacki and his wife Kimberly of Rocky Hill and Paul Kownacki and his wife Jessica of Meriden, her precious four grandchildren: Caitlyn, Kristen, Ashley and Gabriella. Her two sisters; Donna Dudanowicz of New Britain and Irena Gawdzinska of Poland and many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 4-7pm at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. Funeral service will begin Monday, April 11, 2016 8:30am for a brief gathering at the funeral home, followed by her funeral liturgy at 9:30am in Sacred Heart Church.
