Zofia (Soja) Kasica, 72, passed away peacefully at the Critical Care unit of NB General Hospital on June 9th, 2018, surrounded by her children. She was predeceased by her husband, Jan, and two sisters Jozefa Rzeznik and Janina Zyla. Zofia was born 01/01/46 in Wola Ranizowska, Poland, to the late parents of Wojciech and Maria Soja. Jan and Zofia married in Poland and moved to New Britain in 1966 where they worked hard and raised their family. Zofia was a wonderful cook at Meadowland Restaurant for over 30 years, a family style Italian American dining restaurant where she influenced the menu with her Polish cooking, namely her pierogis. She will always be remembered for the love, generosity and compassion she had for all her family and close friends. Zofia is survived by her two sons Stanley, Wesley and his children Gregory and Katherine, and her daughter Anna Kasica. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their children. Her children would like to extend a special thank you to the Critical Care Unit and Emergency Room doctors and staff at HOCC, NB General, for their exemplary and compassionate care they gave to Zofia. Her funeral Services will be held on Thursday June 14th, 2018 at 9:00am from the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church 158 Broad St New Britain. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
