I just learned of Oakley's passing a short time ago. 
I meet Oakley at Woodsmith  BUILDERS in the middle 80s.
We were partners in Winchester Carpentry for about a year before we went our separate ways.
Unfortunately we lost touch over the years.
He was a good man who loved his wife and new child.
An awesome carpenter who was always looking to do the right thing for his men and customers.
I was proud to know him and call him my friend.

Oakley was a pall bearer at my sisters funeral as i remember. He was also a co-worker of mine at Rossett Construction back in the 80"s. Most importantly, he was a good man. Rest easy brother.

Oakley ,Pat and I will miss seeing you everyday..Especially on our usual Friday night bonfires. I will miss your laughter and constant picking on me! ! I would like to thank you again for finally cutting down that dang walnut tree ! ! We love you  and thanks for our new deck! ! You were an awesome friend and neighbor always helping with anything we needed! You will be missed more than you will ever know ! ! !

Kathy - I can't begin to express my sorrow for your loss. Oakley was a good man, and will be greatly missed. You and Oakley have always been shining lights in my memories of the past. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

The world will be a lot less fun without Oakley, but I bet they're having a good time in Heaven right now. He always made everybody feel welcome and like a part of the family. When I married Joy I was the new guy in the family, but Oakley made me feel like we had always known each other. He will be sorely missed and I'll be looking for him on the other side to give him a hug and share some laughs. I can think of no better tour guide.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Kathy. Oakley was always so kind and happy. Mike, Linsey, Jordyn, and I will truly miss seeing him at the Fritschie gatherings.

We meet Oakley at Joy, his niece and Jim's wedding. To this day, my husband still talks about that time with Oakley. His laugh and personality lit up the room. He will truly be missed.

We met Oakley last February when he came to turn part of our unfinished basement into a bedroom/bathroom. We enjoyed watching him and Randy work and interact with each other--like 2 old married ladies. We were in awe of his carpenter skills and what he could do with them.  My little Scotty, Mac, decided Oakley was HIS new buddy. We all missed seeing him when the remodel was finished.  Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss.

Todd and I miss you sooo much already! Can't imagine this world without our Oakley. We will think of you everyday my friend... we live in the house that "Oakley built"... the roof you put on keeps us dry, the doors keep us warm and the amazing kitchen keeps us close...but the deck you and Todd built is the masterpiece... you guys did an amazing job and taught my boys what REAL work was all about! I've known Oakley since we were both teenagers. Oakley was a great guy and wonderful neighbor.  He always had a smile and something nice to say about everyone he met.  We were certainly blessed when he arrived in the world and are thankful for the many great memories he leaves with us.  I'm sorry for your loss, Kathy -- Cynthia Dunlevy

Oakley was truly one of the good guys.  He always had a joke to tell and a smile on his face (except when he shot my house!).  I will never forget the look on his face while explaining what happened as I literally had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard.  My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Kathy, Curtis, Chaney, family and friends.

RIP fellow Classmate and Friend.... You were way to young to leave us... I will never forget your wonderful spirit and humor and those great hats!!!! Prayers for your family and friends. We shall surely miss you at our next THS Bicentennial Class Reunion. HUGGS Brother!
