

Alan F. Barnuski, 65, beloved husband of Lorraine Evan-Barnuski, passed away on November 21, 2014 after a long illness. Alan was born in New York City on August 3rd to William and Margaret Barnuski. Alan was raised in Ridgefield, N.J. and was a 29 year resident of Congers, N.Y. at the time of his death. Alan was a graduate of Ridgefield Memorial High School and received college degrees in Industrial Arts from Englewood Cliffs College and Montclair State College. Alan is survived by two sisters, Carole Forte of Hampton Bays, N.Y. and LeAne Jordan of Boca Raton, FL. and six nephews; Christopher, Stephen, Douglas, Michael Forte and Ryan and Craig Jordan. He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Carl Forte and Tom Jordan. Alan was a lover of nature and all animals, especially his German shepherd, Atlas. Alan had a private pilot's license and enjoyed flying and motorcycle riding. He was a member of the Pyrotechnics Guild and travelled to all parts of the United States for their fireworks conventions. Alan was a baseball fan and will be remembered as an excellent pitcher. He was also a musician and drummer in a rock band as a young man. Family will receive visitors on Monday, November 24th from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, N.Y. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 25th at St. Paul's Church, Congers, N.Y. followed by interment at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, N.Y.
