Alice Fitzgerald

Alice M. Fitzgerald passed away on December 30, 2010. She was 78 years old. Alice was born on September 18, 1932 to Alexander and Catherine (Murphy) Furlong. She married the love of her life, Edward Fitzgerald, on January 25, 1958 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Vernon, NY. She graduated from the Mount Vernon School of Nursing and worked for Clarkstown Pediatrics for 27 years. She was a member of St. Augustine’s Church for 48 years. Alice enjoyed hiking, running, reading, and traveling but her most joyous times were spent with her children and grandchildren. Alice is survived by her loving husband, Edward; her daughters Jill (Kevin) King from New City, NY, Catherine (Jeff) Wood from Dallas, TX, and Ellen Crone from Alpharetta, GA; her sister Sandra Pignataro from Rio Rancho, New Mexico; her grandchildren Patrick King, Katie Wood, Meghan King, Jacqueline Crone, Kevin Crone, and Brandt Wood. Alice was pre deceased by her brother, Gerard Furlong. Viewing will be held on Monday January 3 from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 4 at St. Augustine’s Church at 10 am followed by burial at Gethsemane Cemetery.
