Andrew Galligan

Andy is survived by children Andrew (Gina), Kevin (Jennifer), Laura and beloved grandchildren, Madison, Olivia and Kevin. He is preceded in death by his wife Anne, brother John, and sisters Irene and Carol.

Andy was born on October 7, 1937 in Bronx, New York to the late Andrew and Mary Galligan. He was the third of four children. Andy grew up with a love of music and was often heard singing. In 1961 Andy joined the NYPD where he proudly patrolled in Harlem and the Bronx. He married Anne in 1964 and they moved to Haverstraw, New York where they raised their family. After retiring from the NYPD, he began ANCO Trophies, a well-known local business in Haverstraw. He volunteered his time as a Little League and basketball coach. He will be remembered as a kind hearted, spirited gentle giant.

Family will receive friends on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 3-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 So. Main St., New City, NY. A service will be held at 10:30am Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Monsey, New York.
