March 29, 1950 – June 5, 2026
Ann Catherine Menendez, of Congers, New York, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, strength, and dedication to her family and community.
Ann was born in Queens, New York, on March 29, 1950, to William and Doris Neidhart. She married the love of her life, Frank Menendez, on September 6, 1970, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and countless cherished memories.
For nearly 20 years, Ann dedicated herself to serving others as the leader of Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, an organization that provided essential support and companionship to elderly individuals who were unable to independently get to doctor appointments, banking, or grocery shopping. Her kindness, compassion, and commitment touched the lives of many people throughout her community.
Ann was a true fighter. For the past eight years, she courageously battled pancreatic cancer, defying expectations and beating the odds through her strength, determination, and incredible spirit. She faced every challenge with grace and courage, continuing to live her life surrounded by the people and things she loved until the illness ultimately overcame her.
Ann’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank; her three children, Brian (April), Karen (Tim), and Steven (Stephanie); and her four grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Ava, and Logan. She loved her family beyond measure and cherished every moment spent together.
Ann and her family enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, creating memories along the way. Many of their vacations were spent at Disney World, a place that brought great happiness to Ann and her family. After years of RV adventures, Ann discovered her true happy place — Lake George. She fell in love with the area and eventually made it her permanent vacation home, where she found peace, joy, and many special moments.
Ann was also deeply involved in her faith community at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Although she had only joined the church in recent years, she quickly made a lasting impact. She helped strengthen the bonds within the congregation by leading a monthly women’s luncheon, creating a welcoming space for friendship, connection, and community.
Ann will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to helping others, and her remarkable strength in the face of adversity. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love that will continue through all those whose lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
