Anne M. Undersinger (nee O’Kane), age 87, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on September 12, 2019. Born on June 21, 1932 in Manhattan, New York and raised in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Loretta O’Kane, and in 1958 was wed to Paul L. Undersinger of Bronxville, NY.

A graduate of Cathedral High School in Manhattan, NY, Anne lived her adult life and raised her family in New City, NY. As a women of great faith, she was an active communicant and volunteer at St. Augustine’s Church, where she often attended daily mass.

After graduating high school, Anne began her profession at the New York Telephone Company as a customer service representative. She devoted her entire career to the New York Telephone Company and retired at age 67, where she gained many friendships that she maintained throughout her life.

Anne always enjoyed watching Jeopardy, knitting, supporting various missions and charities, and loved reading in her “green chair”. She was also known for the wonders she could accomplish with an iron and can of fabric starch. Additionally, many considered Anne a wonderful confidant, as she was always a problem-solver and attentive listener. No matter where Anne journeyed, she always gained new friends.

Most of all, Anne loved her family more than anything else. Anne is predeceased by her husband, Paul; her sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Jim Scannell; her brother and sister-in-law John and Jean O’Kane; and her brothers-in-law Dan Ryan and Bill Ferreira.

Anne is survived by her children Paul Undersinger, Elizabeth Brodar and her husband Eric, Robert Undersinger, and his wife Mary Jane, and Suzanne Stafstrom and her husband Gregory. In addition to her children, she was also the most incredible Granny to her beautiful grandchildren Amanda Undersinger, Christopher Undersinger, Casey Undersinger, Daniel Stafstrom, Jack Stafstrom, Kevin Stafstrom, Benjamin Cappel, and Olivia Rose Cappel. Furthermore, she is survived by her two sisters Mary Ellen Ryan and Jean Ferreira, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Although we know that Anne has safely passed through the gates of Heaven, she will be truly missed by all, especially by her family and loved ones.

Friends and family may gather in celebration of Anne’s life on Tuesday, September 17th between 4:00p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 S Main St, New City, NY 10956.
