Jr. expired at the age of 89. He was stamped , “return to sender”.
He is survived by his wife Wanda (Kuta) a lady he loved and
admired; daughters Christine and Wanda Reyes-Guerra (Paul),
son Anthony III; Grandson Anthony IV (Heather); Grandchildren
Krysia, Karolina and Paul Xavier Reyes-Guerra; Great
Granddaughters Kailey and Madison Ivancich.
He was predeceased by daughter Joanne (2012), parents Anthony
Sr. (1989) and Florence (Malone)(1978), brother Jack (1932) and
another brother that went straight to heaven at birth (1922).
A Korean War Veteran (1951-1953), he served as a Special Agent of
the Army’s Counter Intelligence Corps with the rank of Sergeant.
During the 1960’s into the 1980’s he was active in youth sports
programs as a Coach, Referee, Umpire, Administrator and Club
Officer at St. Anselm's Church in Brooklyn NY and the New City
Rams Midget Football Program.
He will be remembered as a devout lottery player specializing in
Pick 10 selections. He was a member of the New City, NY Senior
Club Number 1 for decades and served as a Vice President and
Secretary. Also, he was a member of the St. Augustine Parish for
50 years.
He is a alumnus of St Michael’s Diocesan High School, Brooklyn
and Boston College.
During 44 years of gainful employment he labored as a Salesman,
Fundraiser, Consultant and College Administrator. He retired from
Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry NY in 1987 and from Dominican
College, Blauvelt NY, in 1997.
He will be remembered as a loving and devoted Husband whose
marriage of 66 years was the greatest joy of his long life. He was
also a loving Father who would do anything for his children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren. No matter where life took
us we could always count on him. His love for life and laughter was
manifested in every facet of his life. His quick wit and humor will
be dearly missed. “ Ton, Dad, PopPop, Gramps, we love you and will
miss you. We know you will be with us in spirit and that you will
always be watching over us from heaven”.
He will be waked at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on
Tuesday December 11, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Requiem
Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Church, New City, NY on
December 12, 2018 at 10 am. Cremation and Burial will be at a later
date.
His wishes: In lieu of flowers, treat yourself to a nice dinner at a
good restaurant. If your plans do not include sending flowers, stay
home and cook.
