After a long and full life of love, family and music, Antoinette Frances Lacy (nee Stallone) departed this life on Wednesday, December 13th, 2018. She was 82 years old. In her departing hours, she was surrounded by two generations of her progeny and her eternally loving husband, Bob.
The grandchild of Italian immigrants, she was born in New York City in 1936 to Leonardo Stallone and Anna LoNigro. Following in her father’s musical footsteps, Ann was an American Federation of Musicians Local 802 member who played accordion and organ. She was a spitfire of a woman who ferociously loved her family and cared for thousands of children in the nursery at the Spring Valley Racquet Club. Fittingly, she received extremely compassionate care from the nurses, doctors and staff of Pine Valley Nursing Home in Spring Valley, NY; aides from Caring Connection and, her friend until the end, Vee. She lit up the faces of every child she came in contact with and was always the life of the party. For many years, Ann and Bob enjoyed trips to The Poconos with dear friends. Her sense of humor and ability to love were boundless. She was known for making a great cup of coffee and was an amazing Italian cook who could feed an army, even with the shortest list of ingredients. It was a point of pride for her that no one ever departed her home hungry and, although we may all now be able to shed a few pounds, she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her and enjoyed her wonderful meals.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert Lacy; her children, Michael Lacy and his wife, Kathleen Lacy, Dennis Lacy and his wife, Susan Smaldone, Kathleen Stanton and her husband, William Stanton, Kevin Lacy and his wife, Marla Lacy; grandchildren, Megan Smit and her husband, Jeremy, Kara Lacy, Sean Lacy and his wife, Joanna, Ryan Lacy and his wife Katie, Morgan Catherine, Derek Stanton, and Corrie Smaldone; great-grandchildren, Mason Smit, Emily Smit, and Rhea Lacy; her sister, Concetta Adlemen and her husband, Darrel Adlemen; her brother-in-law, Frank Lacy, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Carol Stephens; her Aunt Mary Serigano, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ann is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Joseph Stallone.
