Born December 2, 1939 in Washington D.C., he served our country as a United States Merchant Marine. He retired from The City of New York Department of Sanitation and the New York Times.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bertha Smith; 3 daughters, Nychelle Smith-Malcolm, Nycole Smith-Minniefield and Nytricha Smith; 2 sons, Aubrey Smith Jr. and John Smith; 1 sister, Mrs. Edwina Fishbaugh; 1 Son-in-law, Winston Malcolm; 4 granddaughters, 4 grandsons and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home. The Wake is scheduled for 1-5 p.m. and the funeral service is scheduled for 5-6 p.m. A private cremation ceremony will be held at Ferncliff Cemetery.
