Barbara Ann “Bobbi” Curti – December 1, 1955 – May 1, 2025 – Bobbi Curti passed away on May 1, 2025, surrounded by her family, at the Joe Raso Hospice House after a lengthy illness. Bobbi was a loving mother, nana, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Born at Nyack Hospital, she was a lifelong resident of Rockland County. Bobbi, by profession, was a nurse, receiving her RN in 1983 with honors from Rockland Community College.
Bobbi started her career as an emergency room and later ICU nurse, eventually working in the Neuro unit at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. It was at Columbia, that Bobbi served on the care team for the late legendary heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali. During every admission, Bobbi was requested and served on the champion Ali’s care team during her tenure at Columbia. Eventually, Bobbi moved to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she served in multiple units, including as a shift charge and administrative nurse. In addition, she was an instrumental leader assisting 1199 as it unionized the nursing staff at Good Sam. Bobbi loved being a nurse; she was exceptional at her job, a nurse's nurse, she helped so many. She was the go-to person in times of need for her extended family and friends, assisting them during medical crises, surgeries, and the planning of medical treatment. She was a loving single mother of her son, Scott Curti and his wife Kim. Bobbi loved and adored Scott and Kim, who returned that love and support, especially during her recent illness. She was a fun-loving Nana to her three Grandsons, Travis Curti, Lucas Curti and Mason Curti, never missing an opportunity to express her love, attend events, and brag about her boys. She could quite often be heard, even until most recently, saying how her days spent watching her boys were always her best days. Bobbi is survived by her siblings, sisters Mary Hoehmann of Myrtle Beach, SC and Faith Hauss and husband Michael of Milford, PA. Her brothers Howard Hoehmann II, and wife Josie of Millrift PA, Joseph Hoehmann and wife Kelly of Matamoras, PA, John Hoehmann and wife Julie of Wallkill, New York, George Hoehmann and wife Kathy of Nanuet, David Hoehmann and wife Patty of Pine Bush, NY. She is survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews who all dearly loved their very cool “Aunt B- Bop”. She is predeceased by her parents, Howard and Barbara Hoehmann, her older sister Dianne Conklin, nieces Stacey Hoehmann, Alyssia Hoehmann, Dianna Jewel Conklin and her very dear friend Kathy Hudson.
The family will receive friends at the Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home located at 321 Main Street, New City, New York 10956 on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 3:00-7:00PM.
