Beatrice Foerster

Beatrice was born in the Bronx on July 12, 1928 to Henry and Beatrice (Locatell) Hahn. She was a graduate of St Raymond’s Grammer School and Cathedral High School (1945). Beatrice worked as a Secretary for the Western Electric Company before meeting her husband, Thomas. On April 25, 1953, she married Thomas Leonard Foerster at St. Raymond’s Roman Catholic Church, Bronx, NY. They moved to New City in 1959 where she was a member of St Augustine RC Church and then St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Beatrice was active as a member of the Catholic Big Sisters and the New City Senior Club One. She especially enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her Red Hat Friends and her Tuesday lunches at the Saloon with her life-long friends from Cathedral High School. Beatrice was a member of West Nyack Swim Club for almost 50 years, spending many Sunday afternoons on the hill. She enjoyed many vacations with her husband Tom on cruises in the Caribbean and in Europe, as well as, relaxing in Aruba at the Aruba Beach Club.

Beatrice was predeceased by husband Thomas, daughter Nancy, parents Henry and Beatrice Hahn, and her brother Robert Hahn.

She is survived by her son Tom, her daughter Dianne (John), daughter-in-law Louise, and grandchildren Carolyn and Tom.

The family will receive friends on Friday August 25, from 9-11am at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, West Nyack, NY followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
