

Benjamin Franklin Keeperman, a career sportswriter, reporter, editor, and researcher who was a recipient of the prestigious Emmy Award for his work in television sports production died suddenly on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Helen Hayes Hospital in WestHaverstraw, NY while he was recovering from what had been described as a minor stroke suffered on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at his residence in New Britain, CT.
Ben was a loved and respected long-time employee of both ABC Sports television and ESPN following years working as a reporter and editor in print journalism at regional newspapers, sports magazines, scholastic journals, and other publications, including Sports-Eye,and SHOUT (the magazine of the Buffalo Bills Football Club).
Ben will be sorely missed by his co-workers and friends not only in New York and Connecticut, but by his many associates throughout the nation.
He leaves behind his grieving father, Ronald and his wife Hajnalka of Stony Point, NY, his loving brother Jefferson and his wife Holly with their two sons, Ben’s dear nephews, Cameron and Charles Keeperman of Blauvelt, NY. Ben is also survived by his half-brotherAdam Brill and his wife Monica of Stratford, CT, as well as step-brother Robert Pinter and his wife Szilvia of Stony Point, NY and Szentendre, Hungary.
There will be a public viewing for friends and family at the Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 9:00 a.m until 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at Immaculate Conception Church, on East Main Street, Stony Point, NY at 12:00 noon with the procession to the cemetery immediately following.
Benjamin’s ashes will be interred at the Brick Church Cemetery in Spring Valley, NY in the family plot with his adored mother, Barbara Regina Lubreglio-Keeperman, who sadly pre-deceased her loving son Ben on the third of June, 1995.
Following the burial there will be a celebration of Ben’s life at the North Rockland Social Club on Thiells Road in Stony Point, NY.
