Betty Siegel

Betty C. Siegel passed away on May 7, 2012. She was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, beloved wife, aunt and sister. Betty was born on April 21, 1929 in Mount Vernon NY to Beatrice Argood Coleman and John Coleman. She married her high school sweetheart Robert A. Siegel. After settling in Mount Vernon they moved to Nanuet in 1961.

Betty was an avid reader. She enjoyed league bowling and often travelled to out-of-state tournaments with her team mates. Betty remained a loyal Girl Scout, meeting with her troop members throughout her lifetime. She was a member of Nanuet Senior Citizens Club 2.

Betty will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Elizabeth and her husband Peter, Robert and his wife Barbara, Ruthann, and Rodger. She is survived by her grandchildren, Danielle, Peter, Max, Rani, Hailey, Aubrie, and Jessi and her great-grandchildren, Maddyn, Mackenzie, Lucas, Marlee, Elizabeth, Abigail and Lillian and sister, Jean Giegold.

Friends may call Friday, May 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main Street, New City, NY. A service will be offered Friday at 8 PM in the funeral home. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betty's name to Reading is Fundamental, or your local library.
