Carmela DeSimone, 83, passed away on June 27, 2011 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Carmela was born on January 16, 1928 in Ponza, Italy and immigrated to Bronx, NY when she was seven years old. Survivors include her husband, Joseph, to whom she was married for 58 years, her daughter and son-in-law Ellen and Steven Skorka and son and daughter-in-law Paul and Sue DeSimone. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Stephanie and Gillian Skorka and David and Nicole DeSimone. She will be missed by all.
The wake will take place at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Thursday, June 30 from 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet, NY on Friday, July 1 at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
