Caroline M. Condoluci

Caroline was born April 18, 1945 in New York, NY to Amiel and Mary Maerling (neeO’Donahue).Having lost her mother at a young age, she found her faith to be a source of comfort and was a devout Catholic throughout her life. At the age of 16, she met the love of her life Joseph Condoluci and the two were happily married for 31 years before Joseph’s passing in 1994. Caroline was a devoted wife and mother who raised and cared for her family in Rockland County, NY.

Caroline was a genuinely kind person whose greatest joy was bringing happiness to others. She was a year-round Santa Claus giving gifts to anyone she knew for all occasions. Her love of Christmas also earned her thefitting nickname Christmas Carol with the countdown to Christmas in her home starting on December 26. Caroline loved life as was evident to anyone who met her in one of her decorative holiday sweaters riding on her scooter decked out in décor for whatever holiday was coming next. Her favorite people to make happy were her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as “Nanny”.

She is survived by her daughters Marie (Steve) and Elizabeth (Emmanuel),grandchildren Toni, Raffaella, Paul (Maria), Michael, and Joseph (Yarisol), great grandchildren David, Isabella, and Elizabeth Maria, brother Arthur Maerling, and nieces and nephews Christopher,Tara,Jeremy,Paul,Joanne and Nicholas.She was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law Ellen Maerling and Trudy Condoluci, and brother-in-law Paul Condoluci.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 21 from 3-7 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service (321 S Main St, New City, NY 10956). A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 22 at 10 AM at St. Augustine’s Church (118 S Main St, New City, NY 10956).
