Charlotte Cleary Stachnik

Charlotte, affectionately known as “Love” to her family and friends, was born in White Plains, NY on August 17,1928 to John and Dorothy Ide Cleary. She grew up in Harrison and Rye, NY along with her brother Buddy.

Charlotte married the love of her life Alex V. Stachnik on August 1, 1953 and they moved to New City, NY in 1959 to raise their family.

Charlotte is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Nancy and Tom O’Connor, Susan and Henry Demczuk, Patty and Marc Laffer and Lynne and John Magner. She is also survived by her grandchildren Tom and Renee O’Connor, Tim and Stephanie O’Connor, Katie and Ryan Arvin, Courtney Laffer, Christopher and Courtney Demczuk, Kyle and Julie Magner, Ryan Magner and Alec Magner and 6 great grandchildren Charlotte, Taylor, Quinn, Jackson, Mackenzie and Beckett.Charlotte’s aide, Irma, was a blessing and treated her like family.

She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Alex V. Stachnik,parents John and Dorothy Cleary,brother and sister-in-law Buddy and Maureen Cleary and dear cousin Evelyn Ide.

Charlotte enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, bowling, golf, shopping and boating, along with hosting many pool parties. Her greatest joy and achievement was her family. She exuded warmth and love for her family and everyone she met.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 14 at St Francis of Assisi Church,128 Parrott Rd, West Nyack, NY at 11 a.m.Burial will follow at Saint Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet.
