Christine Velez passed away on July 20, 2011. She was 68 years old. Christine was born on October 25, 1942 in Ecuador. She came to the United States in 1968 and settled in the Bronx, NY then moved to New City, NY in 1984. She worked in Shop Rite in Pearl River as a baker for over 10 years. Christine is survived by her beloved sons Ruben and his wife Patricia, and Steve; as well as her precious granddaughter, Danielle. Christine was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Victor, in January 1997. Family may receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 10am, at St. Augustine’s Church; private cremation to follow.
