Clare Cosentino of New City, NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 29, 2024. Clare was born in Teaneck, NJ. Her parents were George and Anna Fettinger of Piermont, NY.
Clare is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Bruno, and her children, Rosanne (Bronek),Kathleen, Clare (Randall), Barbara (Sue), Frank (Michell), and her daughter-in-law, Patricia. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. This is a time of great sadness for Clare’s family and she will be sorely missed.
Clare was predeceased by her son Michael, granddaughter Chandi Pytowski, son-in-law William Thur, and her sister, Cecelia Knight.
Clare particularly enjoyed her work in New City Elementary School for 25 years as a teaching assistant and later as a secretary to the principal. She looked forward each day to her work in an elementary school environment where she joyfully served children, staff and parents. She was also a member of the New City Senior club where she had many friends and enjoyed their trips and social schedule.
Clare was kind and giving, putting the needs of her family first. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life with family and friends. The responsibilities of the mother of 6 children were eventually expanded to the role of grandmother assisting whenever needed. Her reward was the love that was returned to her by her family.
Visiting will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm at Michael J Higgins Funeral Service in New City, New York. Mass will be held on Thursday, 10am, at St. Augustine’s Church, 118 South Main Street in New City, New York.
