

Clarence B. Mann Jr., 78, of Tomkins Cove, NY passed away on June 3, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. He was at home surrounded by his loving family. Clarence was born May 12, 1948 in Suffern NY, the son of Clarence and Margaret Mann. Clarence attended Clarkstown High school. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps as part of the search and rescue (SAR) crew during the Vietnam war from 1965-1968 . Clarence received the National Defense Service Medal: Presidential Unit Citation: Vietnamese Service Medal w/ Campaign Medal. Known for his dedication and courage, he earned commendations for his service and was a respected member of the V.F.W. Clarence married the love of his life Gayle (Deberry) September 15, 1973. Clarence worked for Louis J. Kennedy Trucking for 40 years. He was a dedicated worker and a proud, lifelong member of the Teamsters Union Local 445, serving for over 44 years before his well-earned retirement."
He loved walks with his dog Russell, fishing, New York Yankees and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with all 4 of his grandsons.
Clarence is survived by his spouse, Gayle; his oldest daughter Tonya Sahlstrom; son-in-law, Scott Sahlstrom; his youngest daughter Kimberly LaManna; son-in-law Dennis LaManna; his son Gregory Ingham; fiance Danielle Cavanagh; grandchildren, Travis, Brock, Austin Sahsltrom and Robert LaManna. He is also survived by his niece Missy (Jeremy Weir), great-nephew Cody Hunt and family. Brother-in-law Gerald Kaminski; Sister Wendy Rhodes. His mother-in-law Frances Deberry, along with many loving family and friends.
Clarence is predeceased by his parents Clarence and Margaret Mann; son CB Mann; loving sister Marci Kaminski.
Clarence was a loving husband, father , grandfather and friend, he will be remembered for his integrity and the values he carried from the Marine Corps into every aspect of his life. In accordance with Clarence’s wishes, cremation will take place privately, and there will be a memorial service held at a later date.
