
Daniel J. Galvin, 79, of Port St Lucie FL, passed away on February 6th at Cleveland Clinic
Martin Hospital in Stuart Fl. He was born on March 11th, 1941 to Timothy Galvin and Alice
Mooney Galvin in the Bronx, NY.
Daniel joined the United States Army in 1959 and served 4 years until 1962. He married the
love of his life Carol O’Conefsky in 1963 and together raised six boys on South Conger ave in
Congers, NY. He worked 26 years with Mabstoa in the Bronx before retiring in 1990.
Daniel loved his family. He never missed a birthday or a major event. He loved writing letters to
his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of all his grandchildren. He loved playing
Keno at the Double Up Arcade in Port Saint Lucie, FL. Daniel was an avid writer to all major
news publications and would sometimes have his emails read on major news networks. He
donated his money and his time to many charitable organizations including St Judes and
Tunnels to Towers. He volunteered at his local People to People organization delivering meals
to the needy. He liked to dance and is now dancing with his beloved wife Carol in heaven. He
was a great man with a huge heart. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Daniel is predeceased by his parents and his wife Carol O’Conefsky, brother Thomas Callinan,
sister Mary DiMiceli and his significant other Joan Derella.
Daniel is survived by his six children Daniel, Timothy, Joseph, Michael, Thomas and Richard.
His loving sisters, Ellen Galvin and Alice Galvin Baranello. He is also survived by his eight
grandchildren TJ Galvin, Kayli Galvin, Alyse Galvin, Aidan Galvin, Grant Galvin, Jack Galvin,
Hannah Galvin and Paige Simons. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who he loved
dearly. His Daughter in laws Amy Galvin, Dawn Galvin and Lisa Galvin who he adored.
Visitation will be held from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday February 24th at Michael J Higgins
funeral home in New City NY. Services will be Thursday Feb 25th at St Pauls Church on Lake rd
in Congers, NY at 11:30 am. Daniel will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in
Hawthorne, NY.
