Daniel L. Russo Sr.

Daniel L. Russo, Sr., 90, a resident of Bardonia, NY, died peacefully at home on June 12, 2024. Born to Vito and Margherita Russo on January 29, 1934, he graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, NY. Daniel retired from Local 1500 of The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, where he was Secretary-Treasurer. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Russo, his son Anthony J. Russo (Dana Silver), his daughter Margherita L. DiManni, and his son Daniel L. Russo, Jr. (Susan). He was the beloved grandfather of Alexandra and William Russo. He is also predeceased by his sisters, Vincenza Scoca, Michelina Rabasco, and Jane Ciaramella, and his brother, Michael A. Russo. Daniel will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, and as a passionate and dedicated fan of the New York Mets.

A visitation for Daniel will be held Monday, June 17, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956. A funeral mass will occur on Tuesday, January 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Shrine Church, 36 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY 10954, followed by an internment at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
