54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” (1 Co 15:54-55)
“In fact death, our last enemy (1 Cor. 15:26) has through the work of Christ, has become our friend. Our most dreaded opponent has become our servant, who opens the door to heavenly bliss. Death for the Christian is not the end, but a glorious new beginning”. Anthony Hoekema, The Bible and the Future
Beloved, we should be encouraged and take solace in Apostle Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, that death has been swallowed in victory by the Lord Jesus Christ for every Christian. For this reason, it has no power over us. And so, it is with Dennis Adjei Brenyah Esq; our son and brother-in-law, who has passed on to glory.
Notwithstanding his elevation, we are indeed saddened by his demise but weighing the protracted battle of cancer, he had to fight, we cannot but agree with the good Lord for calling him home to rest.
Brother Dennis, was a luminary legal brain who stood up for the deprived and the vulnerable. That penchant to help the needy and poor did not leave him, knowing very well he had come from such humble beginnings. A conviction which carried him throughout his practice both at home and in the USA.
He will be dearly missed by his in laws; Kwamena, Jojo, Cecilia and Michael. And indeed the entire Sekyi-Yorke family at Saltpond will miss his wise counsel and warmth.
Trying as his parting may be, we want to be encouraged by Anthony Hoekema’s words that; “…Death for the Christian is…not the end, but a glorious new beginning”.
A glorious beginning for you; brother Dennis. We will surely meet in heaven, and we will sing and shout the victory!
Brother Dennis; rest in perfect peace.
