This is  very sad news.  Dr Kaledzi and I trained as surgeons together in the 1980s.  HIs dedication to his profession, his humor and his skill will always be in our memories.  May he rest in peace.

All my interactions were great, full of love and care. From the first time I went to NYC with mum in 1995 till recent comms via WhatsApp.

After we (Agagah fam) visited Grandpa Leo And Grandma Betty in 2009 I think, we were met at La guardia Airport, Grandpa Leo stood tall with his leather jacket and drivers cap and grandma Betty with her short hair with curles. 😊

Immediately we were welcomed with both arms and shown love I've only experienced with my nuclear family.

We sat in " the Monster" and enjoyed the comfort of that ride all the way to their beautiful residence.

He took us to his surgery and organised I think a driver to show us round New York, Grandma Betty ended up being our tour guide as his knowledge was on the roads and not the subway lol.

After this trip is was then the Nickname "Legend" was formed, Grandma Betty came to know of the name when she visited us some years later and told him. 

He corrected me by saying "not gone yet, so I can't be a legend, I'm a living legend". 

Even our last exchange of messages he reiterated his status. 🖤


Elom Agagah

Dr Leonard Kaledzi was my Senior in High School in Ghana. He impacted me both academically and in sports.

He memory is forever written in gold in his impact to and in his community. 
He started with regular visits from the USA with Medical and Social Outreaches and care for decades. 

He leaves behind an imposing and well equipped health facility which serves not only his community but people from afar including neighboring countries. 

May His legacy continues 




I’m so sad to hear about your passing. You inspired me to pursue medicine. Your compassion for your patients, your patience in listening to them made you one of a kind. Whenever I came to your office, you’ll tell me you’re warming the seat for me. That always warmed my heart knowing I had a big supporter cheering me on. I will miss you Dr. Kaledzi. Rest in perfect peace my role model. 

We received the sad news of your passing with shock. It was a great joy to meet you and your wife in New York 4 yrs ago. We didn’t know the end wound come this soon

My sincere condolences to the Kaledzi family for the loss of this great and benevolent man who devoted his life to serve mankind in the best way he could throughout his entire life. He was a good man so he did  everything in his capacity and his best to do something for the benefit of mankind.  Fare thee well. Gone but not forgotten.
