Edward C. Ryan

Edward C. Ryan was born on September 23, 1936 in the Bronx, NY to Edward and Mary (Cassidy) Ryan. He passed away on October 10, 2013. He retired after 30 years of service as a Captain of the FDNY. He loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife Virginia (Moylan), sons Edward and Valerie, Gerard and Andrea, Christopher and Tracey, daughters Maureen and James Challacombe, Virginia and James Pskowski and Tara and Mark Langway; 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his sister Sr. Anne Ryan P.B.V.M. and his brothers Joseph and his wife Barbara, Paul and his wife Mary, and Frank and his wife Edna. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Patricia McFadden and his brother John.

Family will receive visitors on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm and on Monday from 4-8pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday at 11am at St. Paul's Church in Congers, NY. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Sisters of the Presentation, 84 Presentation Way, New Windsor, NY 12553.
