Born Eileen Clune in Brooklyn on August 9, 1941 to Jeanette (Walsh) and James Clune. Eileen grew up in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and attended St. Gregory the Great School and Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School, graduating at the age of 16. She attended and graduated from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing on a Regents Nursing Scholarship and also later studied at Hunter College.
Eileen married the love of her life, her angel, John Daly in June 1963. John predeceased her in January 2018 and Eileen was his devoted, never complaining nurse in his final years. She is survived by their four children, Eileen (Mike Sapraicone) of Upper Brookville, NY, Patrick (Jeanne) of Pearl River, NY, John (Sue) of Congers, NY, and Jimmy of Manhattan, NY. Eileen is also survived by her five grandchildren, Lindsay, Maris, Victoria, Andrew and Abby and five step grandchildren, Christina, Melissa, Michael, Victoria and Ashley, along with five great-grandchildren.
Eileen is also survived by her sister, Patricia Clune (Sal Liggieri), longtime family friend “Uncle” Peter Mancuso, sister-in-law Dr. Jane Daly and sister-in-law Rosanne Daly and her children Sean and Joanna. She is also predeceased by her parents.
Eileen worked as a Registered Nurse at the since closed St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan and at Nyack Hospital. In 1984, she embarked on her real estate career, initially with AB Realty and later spent more than twenty years with Rand Realty. She established a thriving practice as a Foreclosure Specialist, annually ranking amongst top sellers, culminating in a 2017 award as the #2 Agent in the Country for units sold nationwide. She built this business with a strong team, her endless patience and perseverance and years of learning every street of Rockland County by conducting “drive-bys”. She also served on the Clarkstown Property Tax Grievance Committee for many years.
Eileen will be most remembered for her kindness and as a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her children’s friends often congregated at her home after sports and other activities and she hosted numerous friends and loved ones as short and long-term residents. She also demonstrated this kindness by helping “poor souls” losing their homes in foreclosures and felt her good deeds would be returned a “hundredful.” Her impact will resonate in the thousands of lives she has touched through the years.
