Eileen B. Kramer passed away on August 2, 2020. She was born in Brooklyn on September 22, 1928 to Edward and Mary (Hughes) Hewitt. She was a Rockland resident since 1956, prior Bronx. Eileen initially worked for the New York Telephone Company and then served the Rockland community at the Nanuet National Bank and ended her career as Vice President at The Bank of New York. Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family, being at the beach and hosting holiday meals and gatherings at her and her husband’s New City home. She was the family matriarch, believed strongly in family values and loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John A. Kramer, her husband of 62 years, predeceased Eileen in 2010. She is survived by her sons; Jeff and his partner Keith Lachapelle of Washington DC, Jeff’s children Megan and her partner Nicolás Ortega of Manhattan NY, Jacquelyn of Washington DC; and Brian and his wife Maureen of New City, their children Bobby and his wife Nicole of Ramsey NJ, Brittany Byrnes and her husband Ryan of River Vale NJ and her 2 great-grandchildren, Colin Byrnes and Aubrey Kramer. She is also survived by her brother Edward Hewitt and his wife Louise of New City and her niece and nephews.
Due to COVID-19, services will be private. The immediate family will view the deceased at Higgins Funeral Home, Congers, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Nyack, NY. Interment to follow at Fred Loescher Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
