Emilie McGrath

Emilie G. McGrath passed away peacefully, with her children by her side, on June 7, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on January 19, 1931 to the late Charles and Marie Geoffrion.

Her beloved husband, Thomas J. McGrath and son, John W. McGrath predeceased her in 2001 and 2012, respectively. Emilie is survived by her sister, Iris of Atlanta, Georgia; children Charles (Carol) of Pearl River; Andrew (Lisa) of Valley Cottage; Matthew (Lisa) of Ramsey, NJ; Ellen Cifuni (David) of West Nyack; Julia Stella (Christopher) of West Nyack; daughter-in-law, Kathy, of Nanuet and grandchildren Sean; James; Courtney; Jake; Thomas; Ryan; Grace; Nicholas; Emilie; and Mia. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia McGrath of Millerton, NY and several nieces and nephews.

Emilie was an avid reader who also enjoyed painting; knitting; and playing Yahtzee and bridge. Her favorite times were spent celebrating birthdays with her family.

Visitation and Funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 Main St., New City from 9:30 to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine's Church, 140 Maple Ave., New City at 11 am. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
