Fanny Sementilli

Born on December 21, 1934, in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, she lived a long and fulfilling life rooted in love, family, and faith.

Fanny was the cherished daughter of Salvador Cruz and Rafaela Cardona Cruz. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mike, with whom she shared many years of devotion and partnership. She was also preceded in death by her sister Mary Quinones.

A devoted mother, Fanny is survived by her daughters Linda Costanza (Tom) and Deborah Dickerson (Jon), who carry forward her legacy of warmth and resilience. Her love extended deeply into the next generations—she was a proud grandmother to Tom (Betsy), Christine (Erik), Michelle (Christopher), Brian (Melanie), Nicholas, Bianca, and Savannah. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her 10 great-grandchildren: Kaitlin, Abby, Riley, Carter, Brady, Anthony, Daniella, Reagan, Michael, and Oliver.

Fanny’s life was marked by simple pleasures that brought her great happiness. She had a passion for bowling and spent many joyful hours at the lanes with friends. She delighted in playing cards and dominoes with family, games that often turned into cherished moments of laughter and connection. A creative spirit at heart, she enjoyed painting ceramics, especially with her husband and found joy in expressing herself through crocheting blankets. Times spent by the pool taking in the sun and laughing with the family will be forever cherished moments.

Her Catholic faith was a guiding light throughout her life. It shaped her values and provided comfort during both joyful celebrations and times of sorrow.

Above all else, Fanny will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She treasured time spent with her family and created countless memories that will live on in their hearts.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Wake will be held on December 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home 321 Main Street . There will be a small service at 3:00 PM.
