Frances E. Donohue

Frances Elizabeth Donohue of Nanuet, NY passed away peacefully on October 27, 2014 at the age of 83. She was born July 10, 1931 in New York City, NY to Harry Neyen and Gertrude (Novak). She married Thomas J. Donohue in 1952 at St. Peter and Paul Church in the Bronx, NY. She was a resident of the Bronx until 1961 when she moved to Nanuet and resided there as a homemaker for the past 53 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Church for over 50 years and a member of St. Anthony Senior Citizens Club. She was an avid reader and loved to knit. Frances will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and nana whose greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren.Frances is survived by her husband of 62 years Thomas J.; son Thomas R. of Nanuet; son Michael W. and wife Elizabeth of Westport, CT; daughters Eileen Donohue of Croton-on-Hudson and Patricia Jean (PJ) and husband Michael Nugent. She is also survived by three brothers William, Robert, James and sister Margaret Foudy as well as grandchildren Conor James, Kaylin Marie, Ceara Frances, Emily Lauren, Caroline O'Connor and Colleen Elizabeth.Family will receive visitors at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place Thursday 11:30am at St. Anthony Shrine Church. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you place donations in her honor to Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, NY.
