Frank inspired everyone around him. He lived "Duty, Honor, Country" every day. May he rest in green meadows, walk beside peaceful waters. and rejoice in the presence of the Lord. Gone far too soon. May God comfort his family. We will miss you, Frank the Tank!  Be thou at peace.

I met Frank and Lena in Abu Dhabi and always felt their relationship was one-of-a-kind. Always smiling...always positive. Following Frank's battle from afar, I was always encouraged by his forever smile and Lena's support. 

Coming back to SC in the summer of 2019, I was honored to meet them for dinner. The dinner conversation was all positive and enjoyable...and you can see it in their eyes...the determination to live every minute to the fullest.

Thank you both for setting the example on how to live life to the fullest. I will forever be in your debt.

A few years back, I was handed a project in Charlotte, North Carolina when the customer told our company that they were not going to exercise the last option year on our contract. 

Since, originally, the project had not been in my portfolio, I had kept from sticking my nose in it but, since its inception, the project had experienced one screw-up after another. The Project had run through multiple Project Managers, Chief Engineers, and Custodial Supervisors as well as support subcontractors. In fact, it was the most messed-up contract of any that my company had in my 30 plus years working for them. Truthfully, I was surprised the customer had been so patient with us. 

To try and save the contract, the Regional Manager was fired and the project was handed off to me. The customer agreed to let us have 60 days to get our performance back on track or the contract would be terminated.

Frank Turner responded the very day we placed our ad for the Project Manager online. Although Frank had NO experience in facilities management, after checking his references (they were outstanding), I hired him:  "here you go, Frank, let’s see if you can pull a rabbit out of your hat." 

Frank’s quiet, soft-spoken leadership style and his ability to focus on the essentials of any problem that arose made an immediate impact upon our workforce and our tenants. The turnabout in our performance was so evident that the customer didn't wait the full 60 days before signing our contract to its full term. 

Older West Point Graduates have an expression that they use to tease the more recent graduates. We say, “The Corps Has,” meaning the discipline and regimen of the Corps of Cadets has changed so much that it has gone to Hell.  I used to tease Frank with that very expression but, I can assure you that, if West Point is turning out young graduates like Frank Turner,  "The Corps Has NOT!" 

So, Frank, my friend, 
"Well Done! Be Thou at Peace."
