Passed on to heaven and eternal life in the early morning hours of July 20th, 2021 he was just a few months shy of 81.
Fred is survived by his daughter Jamie, son Ryan, grand-dog Sadie, sisters Jessie, Bernadette, Marie, Fran, and Camille. His wife Pam, parents Carmela and Fred and sister Sue await him in heaven. Along with other family and friends who have preceded him in death. He is survived also by his sister in-laws,brother in-laws and generations of precious cousins, nieces, and nephews. All to which his entire world and heart revolved around.
Fred asked for so little but gave so much. He will always be remembered as a humble man who didn’t seek attention, whose personality won over everyone whom he came in contact with. He always had this way about him that when he spoke to you, you felt important and knew that he truly cared. There wasn’t a stranger he wouldn’t talk to or a child that wasn’t drawn to him.
Fred was the sounding board of family and friend strife and would never pick a side just listen to those who needed an ear. If we can take anything from this. We ought to strive to live and be more like him. He would want all who love him to mend wounds and differences and live on.
He was an NYPD Officer for 31 years, quickly climbing the ranks to Inspector Auriana one of his proudest achievements. He shared his love of sports with his son Ryan, never missing an opportunity to watch him play throughout his life. Serving as honorary first base coach for the soft ball team over the last several years. He would admire the projects his daughter Jamie would set her mind on and knew to get out of the way. He got to see the Yankees win multi World Series, the Giants win two Super Bowls, his son hit a grand salami making sure he kept that ball and watch his daughter chew on her glove in the outfield.
Fred, Fritz, Fritzie, Freddie, husband, Papabear, Coach, My Man, Friendly Fred, Mayor, brother, Uncle, father figure to many and instrumental in the lives of all who knew him. Perhaps he passed from a broken heart and just wanted to see his beloved wife Pam on her 70th birthday in heaven. No one can fill the hole he left in this world and our hearts when he passed on, they don’t make ‘em like Fritz anymore.
“Say not in grief he is no more, but live in thankfulness that he was.”
