Frederick J. Parent

He was 52 years young. Born to Frederick and Joan Parent on June 18, 1965. Fred leaves behind his lovely wife Leona Foran Parent and their three children, Freddy, James and Brylee Parent. Also his brothers Michael (Susan) Parent, Richard (Veronica) Parent, Peter Parent and his sister Joyce Parent; along with numerous wonderful nieces and nephews.

Fred was a member of the Clarkstown PD for the last 26 years. Fred began his career as a dispatcher for 5 years, then he became a police officer, and moved up the ranks to his current position as a Detective for the Clarkstown PD. Fred was also a member of the Nanuet Fire Dept. for the past 27 years. He started off as a fire fighter and moved up in the ranks to become Chief and then Commissioner, and finally a Life Member. Fred was also a member of the Rockland County Emerald Society for the past 10 years. He learned to play the bagpipes in 7 months, so he could go to Savannah GA. with the band. In the spring of 2013 he was named the 5th pipe major of the band. Fred loved playing and teaching new members. We will forever love him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who crossed his path.

Family will receive friend on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J Higgins Funeral Home, in New City, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, 11/17 at 10am, at St. Anthony Parish, in Nanuet. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.
