Gunvald Eidet of New City, NY passed away Friday, December 8, 2017. He was born in Vennesla, Norway on June 21, 1936. In 1965, Gunvald and his wife immigrated to the US. He is the owner of Gunvald Painting Corp. In addition, Gunvald co-owned and operated Paley Paint for a number of years. He served as an Elder Emeritus and was formerly a Chairman of his church. Gunvald is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ingebjorg; his children Anne Mette and her husband Daniel Holahan, and May Lill and her husband Kevin Hughes; his grandchildren David and Catherine Holahan; and his siblings Lita Hansen and Helge Eidet.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 14th from 4:00-6:00 at the Hope Community Church (Nanuet Lutheran Brethren) at 109 N. Middletown Rd, Nanuet. The funeral service will follow at 6:00. Interment Service at Hope Community Church Friday, December 15th at 11:00am, and funeral procession will leave from church at 11:15am.
