Gustav Johan Worum passed away on December 2, 2013. He was born on March 10, 1927 in Haugesund, Norway to Jenny (Haakonsdatter) and Gustav H. Worum. He came to the United States in 1956 at the age of 26. He retired at 80 years of age after being self employed as a master carpenter. Gustav was very creative and artistic. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hilda Marie, sons Viggo (Rosemary) and Glenn, daughter Jenny (Mike), brother Haakon, sisters Kari and Aslaug and grandchildren Morgan, Kayla and Johan.
Family will receive visitors at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service will take place at Risen King Alliance Church on Friday. Interment to follow at Brick Church Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org.
