

Hector Diaz, a long time resident of Orangeburg passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 23, 2017. He was born in East Harlem in New York City on May 11, 1933 to Otilia Moreno and Ramon Diaz. After serving in the army during the Korean War and being honorably discharged in 1955 he graduated from City College of New York with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for many years for Bell Laboratories in New Jersey and retired in 1989. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Evelyn, his three children Theresa, Raymond and Anthony and three grandchildren Jose, Tomas and Isabella.
Hector was a very happy go lucky guy with a great sense of humor. As a young man he often practiced acrobats with his buddies on Jones Beach. After his retirement he enjoyed playing golf, Bingo, and cruising around the world.
There will be a church service on Monday March 27th at St. Catherine’s Church 523 Western Highway, Blauvelt New York. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society or to the Joe Raso Hospice via the United Hospice of Rockland County.
