She was born in the City of New York to Leo Cyler and Louise Hoeflich on August 12, 1927. The family moved from Amityville, LI to New City when Henny was a child. She shared a remarkable love story with her husband of 69 years, Joseph S. Schuck (1927-2017).
Their story began at New City Park Lake where his family spent summers in New City. Joe met Henny Cyler – a local New City
girl who would become the steadfast center of his life, staying by his side as he served his country during World War II. They were married April 3, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Church, Spring Valley.
She attended Chestnut Grove School and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1945. She worked for many years at Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River. After many years in the administrative offices of East Ramapo Central School District she retired in 1998.
She was an avid gardener which was reflected in the beautiful flowers in her yard. She enjoyed her Wednesday afternoons with many friends as a member of Congers I Senior Citizens.
Henny is survived by her four children: Craig (Cindy Clemmer) Schuck of Wilmington, NC; Diane (James) Patton of Belleville, MI; Liesel (Richard) Bell of New City; Joseph (Yvonne) Schuck of Plymouth, MI. She took immense pride in her grandchildren. Michael (Amy – deceased) Schuck; Lauren (Stanley) Maragos; Tyrone (Sheila) Patton; Nicole (Douglas) Mitchell; David (Debra) Bell; Matthew (Crystal) Bell; Richard (Ashley) Bell; Jennifer (Jay) Muller; Kristen (Tyler Camp) Bell; Bianca and Samantha
Schuck. The arrival of each greatgrandchild brought more pride and joy. Cassidy Schuck, Dylan Schuck; Zoe Maragos; Ryann (Cosworth) Connell, Meghan Patton, Matthew Patton; Casey Bell, Erin (Wyatt) LeFebvre; Charlotte Bell; Sofia and Graham Bell; Carson and Landon Muller; Reagan and Tyler Camp. Henny was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph S. The loss of the family’s matriarch leaves an immeasurable void. May she be reunited with all of those gone before her.
