Henry Richard Roes

On February 12, 2023, after a long and valiant battle, Henry Richard (Dick) Roes passed peacefully at his home in New City. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Henry and Sophie (Papenhausen) Roes on December 18, 1935. He will forever be remembered by his wife, Michael Eileen (Moloney), his daughters Christine (Sean) Connaughton and Lorraine Roes, his grandsons, Rory and Gavin Connaughton, his niece and her husband, Sharon and Charlie Ascher, and their children, Jaclyn O’Hara and Craig Ascher. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Dorothy Kienke Martz. He was the proud winner of seven Emmy Awards as an audio and post production engineer for ABC Sports and News. Dick enjoyed his retirement years spending time with his family and friends and cruising the Hudson on the Second Hand Roes. The family is forever grateful to his beloved caregivers, Catherine and Jeannette. Services will be private. Donations in his name to The Wounded Warriors Project, the ASPCA, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
