Illarion Ovchinnikoff

Illarion ( Larry ) Ovchinnikoff, 74, of Congers, NY, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2017. He was a 44 year resident of Congers. Born on May 11, 1942 in China to Markel and Daria Ovchinnikoff. He immigrated to this country in 1962 and learned the trade of masonry and bricklaying eventually running his own business until his retirement in 2006. Larry was married to the love of his life Anastasia for 39 years when she died in 1999. He is survived by his brothers Fred (Zina), Michael (Gail), as well as six of his loving children; Marina O'Connor and her husband John, Anthony and his wife Liz, John and his wife Donna, Zina Ovchinnikoff and her husband Jason, Claudia Middleton and her husband Ryan, and Alexandra Squeri and her husband Chris. Larry is also survived by his 12 grandchildren whom he adored, Caily, Joey, Chris, Mike, Sarah, Alex, Nick, Max, Jake, Hudson, Tyson, and Paige. He was predeceased by his son Paul in 1994.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 9am, St. Sergius Russian Orthodox Church, Valley Cottage. Internment will be private.
