Jagadish Chandra Goswami

Beloved father and husband Jagadish Chandra Goswami of New City, NY passed away on the night of September 28th 2021 at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife Meeta Goswami, his oldest son Anup and his wife Jagruti, his youngest son Mihir and his wife Seema, his four grandchildren, as well as his sister and numerous extended family.

Mr. Goswami was born in Assam India in 1934 and immigrated to New York City when he was 19 years old. He graduated from New York University with two Masters Degrees in Chemistry as well as a PhD in Chemical Engineering. He worked for AkzoNobel as a chemical engineer and manager for 33 years where he was awarded numerous patents most notably in the field of plastics.

In addition to spending time with his family and close friends, he also loved playing bridge and watching New York sports teams. Mr. Goswami was also an avid sportsman, playing cricket as a boy, and in later years developed a great passion for golf. His generosity of spirit and kindness will always be remembered and live on in the hearts and minds of his family and friends who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Higgins Funeral Home (www.dignitymemorial.com) located at 321 South Main St, New City, NY 10956 on Sunday October 3rd from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers or gifts, to please donate in his memory to your favorite charity.
