Jana Novak of New City, NY, 74 years old, passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2019. Jana moved to New City in 2008 from Flushing, Queens. She was born on February 28th, 1944 in Czech Republic to Maria and Vaclav Volf. She married the love of her life, Rosti in 1961 and left Czech Republic to come to America. She enjoyed baking and cooking especially around the holidays. She was an avid outdoor person who loved long walks on the beach, lakes and bicycling but her greatest joys came from her family. She is survived by her son Peter Novak and daughter-in-law Karin Novak. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brittany, Christopher and Erik. She was post deceased by her loving husband Rosti. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Church service will be held on Tuesday, 10am, at Higgins Funeral Home. A burial memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
