Jennie Carrabba

Jennie Carrabba of Bardonia, New York, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 4, 2025. Born in New York City on April 12, 1930, to parents Joseph and Mary Castrovinci, Jennie was the second of seven siblings. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother who filled every room with warmth and kindness. 

Jennie and her beloved late husband, Sam (d.1989), built a life together centered around all their family members. She was a homemaker and active grandmother, helping to raise both Ken and Nick Van Dyke alongside her daughter Karen. Jennie enjoyed running, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. She also enjoyed hosting family holidays and events where -- after a quick six mile run -- her lasagna and cheesecake were always the highlights of the occasion.

Jennie is survived by her children, Cliff Carroll and Karen Van Dyke; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and her sisters Mary Holloway and Connie Revelli, as well as brother Larry Castrovinci. She also leaves many other family members who will sadly miss her.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on September 13, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in West Nyack, NY, and burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, NY.
