Joan Theresa Damiani

Joan Thersa (Thomas) Damiani, of New City, 82 died at Villa Marie Claire Hospice after a short illness on Friday, May 8, 2015. Joan was born in Wilkes Barre, PA. on December 24, 1932 to Thelma (a survivor of the Titanic) and Alexander Thomas. She is predeceased by her husband Thomas who died October 16, 2005. Joan is survived by her sister, Mae Thomas of Wilkes Barre, PA. and two daughters, Carmela and husband Joseph Sansone; daughters Emily and Sarah and Regina and husband Patrick O’Hara; daughters Isabella and Grace all from New City. On September 03, 2005 Thomas and Joan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary here in New City surrounded by family and friends. Joan retired after working many years as a school bus driver from Clarkstown Transportation. Joan spent many enjoyable days at the Senior Center at Meal on Wheels Program, Nanuet, NY.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 12th from 4-8 pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main St. in New City, NY. A mass in Joans's honor will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2015 10am at St. Augustine’s Church, New City, NY.
